Little Rock & Western showed up at Union Station on Thursday, March 13, 2008, as well as a few other trains. Also a scene of the Baring Cross bridge taken from the bike trail that used to be the Missouri Pacific's river line in Little Rock. Seen today: AKMD 722 *** LRWN 7736 *** UP 3135, 2006 *** NS 9965 *** MKT green hopper HLMX 4140 *** 'Cotton' hopper without the 'Belt'

LEFT-The Baring Cross railroad bridge is in the distance, taken from the abandoned roadbed of the Missouri Pacific line that ran next to the Arkansas River in downtown Little Rock. This line is now a bike trail. The Junction Bridge is about a mile behind me. RIGHT-A BNSF northbound crosses the Baring Cross bridge on March 10.


LEFT-Looking to the east from where I took the previous photo, you can see the Broadway Bridge (highway Business US 70) then in the distance you can see a streetcar crossing the Main Street Bridge. RIGHT-Thursday, March 13 at Union Station. Little Rock & Western arriving from the west at 4:15 p.m. I was up the staircase at the station.


AKMD and LRWN 7736. Arkansas Midland No. 722 leads. It's being leased to the LRWN until they get their Alco's running again.

LEFT-Cotton Sans Belt hopper. RIGHT-UP 2006 passes the 722 heading north. No. 2006 was the last of 7 locos in a power move.
