10:18 a.m., the first of 12 trains today. Engine number obscured.
UP 9544, 11:18 a.m. from the east.
Taken through the windows of the old Railway Express office in the
Brinkley Depot Museu,, another southbound at 12:19 p.m. Train number 3
for the day. That's US Highway 70 at the crossing.
UP 4398 taken through the ticket office window of the museum, at 12:37
p.m., train number 4 for the day. As I've stated before, trains go at
track speed past the depot (about 60 mph) and by the time I get my
camera turned on, they're passing the station (since I'm a volunteer at this museum, I
need to do other things besides watch trains at times, so I need to
stay inside most of the time). Lighting is also poor in the
mornings since the Jonesboro Sub runs north-south through Brinkley.
Train number 5 today and I missed the engine numbers. I also took a
low-res Quicktime sound movie (.MOV - 10mb) of this train passing,
which you can see by clicking this link:

You can get a sense of the speed at which these intermodals pass here.

Visitors from Tulsa watching the train.
Matched pair of CSX locomotives, headed by CSX 5375, 2:52 p.m., the 7th
train today.
The Brinkley Depot Museum's unpaid director, Bill Sayger.
CN 5793 and 5360 pass at 3:13 p.m., the 8th train today.
The 9th train is coming off the Memphis Sub at 3:48 p.m., headed by UP
5209.
NS 9890 and 8466 (NS, ex-LMS C40-8W, according to Phillipf22 of
Railspot), at 4:32 p.m., the
10th train. Taken from the
platform of the SP caboose
on display, sitting on the abandoned right of way of the Rock Island.
Flowers in front of the museum.
NS 2560, 4:38 p.m. , train number 11.
UP 4377, 5:14 p.m. , the 12th train.
UP 9201, the 13th train today, my final one. It's 5:46 p.m. Thirteen trains in an 8-hour period is
pretty good for this area.
This train had 2 heavy haulers (KRL).
Second one.
